New Albany Elementary carefully tracks the progress and success of their students by traditional classroom assessment techniques, as well as standardized testing.

Students in grades 3-5 will take the PARCC (MCT3) assessment. Students in Kindergarten & 3rd grade will be administered the MKAS2 test. Students throughout the school will take the STAR Reading Assessment each nine weeks to track student's progress in reading.

  • To identify and examine areas of strength and weakness in the performance of our students, by individual and grade, that may have future implications for curriculum change.
  • To provide a basis for reports to parents and students.
  • To inform our teachers of the needs of their students, resulting in the ability to work toward increasing student achievement and closing achievement gaps.
